Lana Bode, Pianist

Lana Bode has been teaching piano for the past 12 years, over the course of which she has taught a wide range of students (both children and adults, and from a very beginning level to beyond ABRSM Grade 8). In addition to private teaching, she is on staff as a piano and aural skills teacher at The Gower School and the Ealing Junior Music School.

Lana’s teaching philosophy is to help students develop their talent as much as possible, whether they want music to be a lifelong hobby or a potential future profession. She believes in striving for perfection, down to the smallest details, while maintaining a positive encouraging atmosphere to stimulate musical growth.

While Lana is most well-versed in classical piano, she encourages her students to explore other genres of piano music, such as popular, rock, and jazz. Music theory and aural skills are also incorporated into the lessons to ensure a high level of musicianship.

Lana offers a free consultation lesson, after which students can schedule a suitable weekly lesson time. Lana teaches on a Yamaha grand piano in her flat in central London near Kings Cross station (see map below), an ideal location for students in Islington, Camden, and Bloomsbury. Lessons may also take place in the student’s home for an additional travel fee.
