.)        One free consultation lesson will be offered before beginning regular lessons at the rate of £30 per hour, £24 for forty-five minutes, or £18 for thirty minutes. For lessons taking place at the student’s residence, an additional fee will be added to cover the cost of transport, and to compensate for the time spent in transit.

.)        Cash payments should be made at each lesson.

.)        A minimum of 40 lessons will take place each calendar year, allowing a maximum of 12 weeks of holiday. If more than 12 weeks of holiday are required, the missed lessons must be rescheduled before or after the holiday. At the beginning of each month, the student (or parent of a minor) must notify me of any holidays or desired changes in the weekly lesson schedule.

.)        If the student becomes sick or, because of an emergency, cannot attend a scheduled lesson, I must receive notice by 9.00am the day of the lesson. The lesson will be rescheduled unless the student fails to give proper notice, in which case the lesson will be forfeited with payment due.

.)        For lessons taking place at my residence, it is the student’s responsibility to arrive on time. If a student arrives late for any reason, the lesson may still be concluded at the scheduled time.

.)        It is the student’s responsibility to purchase all music books and practice supplies, as well as to pay exam/competition fees.

.)        It is the student's responsibility to practice on a daily basis, following the instructions received in the lessons. Students should bear in mind that steady progress can only be achieved by consistent practice. Although it is preferable for each student to own or rent a piano, other arrangements are suitable as long as the student is able to meet the practice requirements. Students should practice either on an electric piano with weighted keys and a piano-like tone, or a non-electric piano that is tuned at least once a year. I am happy to assist students in their search for a suitable piano or technician.
