Le vase brisé is a concept album that traces the arc of a romantic relationship, from the passion of falling in love to eventual heartbreak. Designed to be listened to in sequence, the album features world premiere recordings by 19th-century female composers Clemence de Grandval and Augusta Holmès, alongside well-loved works by Franz Liszt, Reynaldo Hahn, Henri Duparc, Lili Boulanger, Paolo Tosti, Pauline Viardot, and Vincenzo Bellini. Opening with Hahn’s A Chloris, the album explores love's joys and complexities, culminating in betrayal with Tosti’s Non t’amo più! and the title track by Grandval. The final tracks invite reflection on love, loss, and healing, with poetry by Petrarch, Sully Prudhomme, and Jean Lahor.
