Lana joins soprano Anna Cavaliero for a fascinating mix of British and American music featuring some unjustly neglected songs by women composers alongside Britten and Barber. Elizabeth Maconchy was taught by Ralph Vaughan-Williams and lauded as the next great British composer, but her music is rarely heard today. Florence Price’s music was similarly forgotten. Her song ‘Night’ exemplifies several aspects of the understated beauty and richness of her style.
